Today (22 May 2025), Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Advisor to the Chairman of the Automotive Industry Group and Spokesperson of the Automotive Industry Group, Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), said that the total car production in April 2025 was 104,250 units, down 19.75% from March 2025 and 0.40% from April 2024, the lowest in 44 months. Although the production of electric passenger cars and SUVs (BEV, PHEV, and HEV) in the country increased by 639.75%, 319.11%, and 35.31% respectively, the production of internal combustion passenger cars decreased by 33.60% because the production of passenger cars for export decreased by 36.93% due to the change of some car models.
